Al-Attiyah in front after the first stage

Nasser Al-Atiiyah, the leader of the FIA World Cup in Cross Country Rallies is leading ORLEN Baja Poland after the Friday Super Special Stage, traditionally placed at the firing range in Szczecin. The driver from Qatar, who is driving Toyota Hilux Overdrive, finished the first 7 kilometers long stage in the time of 6:09,7. The second crew of the Cup, Jakub Przygoński and Tom Colsoul (Mini John Cooper Works Rally), lost a bit more than 5 seconds. Comments after the Super Special Stage:

Nasser Al-Attiyah: It was a fine stage for us. I am quite surprised because we won! Two very long stages are waiting for us tomorrow but we are not afraid of them and we will be attacking since the first meters.

Kuba Przygoński: Very nice stage. The organisers have prepared it excellently. We did our best. Beating Hołowczyc on a stage as short as this is a huge honor for us. We are staying positive before tomorrow's leg.

Krzysztof Hołowczyc: It was quite tough, I have made one mistake on a hairpin and  had to take it different  way. I feel miraculously, driving this car is a huge pleasure.

Aron Domżała: To be honest, I did not expect such tough conditions. We went off the road a few times and each of those run-offs cost us some seconds.

Marcin Łukaszewski: Well done! I am very confident and the car has incredible acceleration.

Miroslav Zapletal: It is very quick but the proper rally starts tomorrow. We have to be focused because many things can happen by Sunday.

Bernhard ten Brinke: It was quite okay. Not too good, not too bad. Our plan for tomorrow is to cover as many kilometers as possible.

Peter van Merkseijn: It was not my day but I can not complain. It was a joyful stage and I can’t wait for tomorrow's very long stages in Drawsko Pomorskie.
