Nasser maintains the lead

Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota Hilux Overdrive) after winning Friday’s superspecial of Columna Medica Baja Poland set the fastest time during the longest (176 km) stage held in the military area in Drawsko Pomorskie.

Second time was set by another Toyota Hilux Overdrive pilot Marek Dąbrowski co-driven by Jacek Czachor. Third fastest time was set by Mathieu Serradori in a MCM Original buggy.

A five-time winner of Szczecin classic Krzysztof Hołowczyc (MINI ALL4 Racing) had an unlucky passage of the stage. After completing 50 km, the popular Hołek had a puncture and was forced to change the wheel. He was overtaken by Al-Attiyah behind whom he was forced to haul till the finish of the stage. Due to this mishap Hołowczyc went down in the classification to third place. Marek Dąbrowski and Jacek Czachor were elevated to the second spot while Serradori is up in the results by seven places.

The similar mishap as Hołowczyc faced another MINI ALL4 Racing driver, Jakub Przygoński who was also forced to change a wheel. The ORLEN Team driver was down in a classification from 3 to 5 position.

Currently all the crews competing in Columna Medica Baja Poland are in a service park located in the centre of Drawsko Pomorskie where the cars are maintained by the mechanics. The second passage of the special stage held in a military area kicks off at 13.40.

Comments after the second stage:

Nasser Al-Attiyah (Toyota Hilux Overdrive): - We managed to overtake Krzysztof Hołowczyc at the beginning of the stage and later on we were able to control our pace. It was tough, but no mistake for us. Everything OK.

Krzysztof Hołowczyc (Mini ALL4 Racing): - At the beginning we were driving really fast and had a better pace then Nasser, but we had a flat tyre. Later on we got closer to our rival, but he didn’t let us go, despite our better pace. There was a lot of dust and we didn’t see anything. It wasn’t safe and I hope marshals will look through it.

Marek Dąbrowski (Toyota Hilux Overdrive): - I struggled a bit to find the pace at the beginning, missed one corner, but later on it was much better. 28 seconds adrift to Nasser and second place is a positive result.

Erik van Loon (Mini ALL4 Racing): - In some places it was really tough,  a lot of sideways, but no major mistake.

Miroslav Zapletal (H3 EVO VII): - Everything OK, no technical issues, which is fine.

Martin Prokop (Ford F150 Raptor): - We had an issue with the intercom and I wasn’t able to hear my co-driver. Nevertheless, I had a great fun and the car was perfect.

Marcin Łukaszewski (BMW GPR Series 1): - Nasser is very quick here, although we are focused on our plan. A few technical issues with the car, which seems not to go forward correctly. Now we are going back to the service park and prepare to the next stage.

Xavier Pons (Ford Ranger): - We have a problem with the car, I think it’s a broken differential.

Tomas Ourednicek (H3 EVO I): - During the stage we had to change the setup of the car, as it was too bumpy. It was really fun and I am glad I am on the finish line.

Ronan Chabot (Toyota Hilux Overdrive): - Everything OK. It was a great stage and I enjoyed it a lot.

Michał Małuszyński (Toyota Hilux Overdrive): - We had a lot of adventures on this stage. Unfortunately, our sentinel system was broken and for around 10 kilometers we had to drive behind Dariusz Jedliński in huge amounts of dust. Nevertheless, we are happy to be here.
