Przygoński keeps the pace

(2.09.2018) Sunday morning in Baja Poland was under Polish command. Jakub Przygoński and Krzysztof Hołowczyc set the pace in the first two stages of Polish FIA World Cup counter. The first test – 18,4-kilometre long Krzekowo was won by Hołowczyc and Łukasz Kurzeja, while Przygonski and Tom Colsoul came second, just two seconds behind the winners. Next stage held in Lubieszyn was Przygoński’s show. Orlen Team driver was eight seconds faster than Hołowczyc. Two stages before rally finish Przygoński holds a comfortable lead of 3,5 minutes.

Another FIA World Cup contenders – Vladimir Vasiliev and Konstantin Zhilcow (Toyota Hilux Overdrive) took third time in Krzekowo stage. Although they lost nearly minute to Holowczyc, they took advantage of troubles that hit Martin Prokop and Jan Tomanek. Czech duo had problems with fuel pump and eventually finished the stage in 16th position. This caused a change in overall classification of the event. Vasiliev and Zhilcov jumped into third position, while Prokop and Tomanek dropped to fourth.

There are two stages left to run in Columna Medica Baja Poland. Przygonski and Colsoul lead the overall standings. Further positions are taken by Hołowczyc/Kurzeja (+3:33), Vasiliev/Zhilcov (+15:46), Prokop/Tomanek (+20:12) and Zapletal/Momot (+21:55) respectively.
