Tomiczek makes his mark before ORLEN Baja Poland

(12.08.2019) Adam Tomiczek was in his zone during Hungarian Baja. Pole took an impressive victory just before his home outing, which is ORLEN Baja Poland (28 August - 1 September). Other Poles - Maciej Giemza and Jakub Piatek came 3rd and 5th respectively.

The event held around Hungarian city of Vesprem was not only the round of FIA World Cup for Cross Country Bajas, but a round of FIM Bajas World Cup too. Hungarian event was a season finale for bikers competing in FIM series.

Adam Tomiczek (Husqvarna FE 450 Rally) won as many as three out of four special stages. Cieszyn-born rider finished 2 minutes and 37 seconds ahead of Slovak Stefan Svitko, who has Dakar podium under his belt. All in all, there were five Poles in top five. Second ORLEN Team representative - Maciej Giemza (Husqvarna FE 450 Rally) took third place in his maiden outing in Hungarian Baja. Jakub Piatek (Husqvarna FE 450 Rally) came fifth and clinched runner-up spot in 2019 FIM Bajas World Cup. It was Frenchman Benjamin Melot (KTM 450 EXC) who won overall classification of the cup.

- After first leg I had just 30 seconds advantage over Stefan Svitko. During leg two I was fast and consistent on both stages, which I won. The rally was very fast, while the route was very demanding. We ran after cars, so the roads were full of large stones. Nevertheless, I kept the pace and I am very satisfied with the result - said Adam Tomiczek.

- I am very happy to finish on the podium. I was my first outing here and I liked the event. I had a trouble-free run, motorcycle was reliable, and my team did a great job - said Maciej Giemza.

Another Pole - Pawel Otwinowski (Yamaha Raptor) finished third in quad category.
